OVERVIEW

Maharashtra is one of the most industrialized states of India andalso the most preferred destination for industrial investment. It isthe manufacturing hub of India. With its vast reservoir of skilledmanpower and most developed Industrial infrastructure, being aleader among industrially developed states and having itsmaximum number of workers employed in the factories. It isimperative that the safety of the work force is of paramountimportance both at the state level and the industry level.

Maharashtra has 37816 registered factories under the FactoriesAct, 1948, including 402-MAH, 5306-Hazardous and 3,820-Chemical factories. It requires a lot of knowledge and training toensure safety at these factories. The culture of cultivating thesignificance of safety among workers and management isprominent in Maharashtra. This activity is conducted throughpromotions of various safety training programs, exhibitions andinteraction with safety professionals. The safety and health of theworkers in the factories are continuously at the micro level withthe help of industry professionals. The Safety Awareness amongindustries is high, but a lot of work is still required to be done to World of Safetyensure safety and health so that it becomes world-class.

SUMMIT AND EXPO 2024

This is being held at NESCO Center, Goregaon (East) with Safety Appliances Manufacturers Association (SAMA) Manufacturers Association (SAMA) in collaboration with the Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH), Maharashtra to create awareness, solutions, and help create an everlasting safe environment in Maharashtra. It will get all the stakeholders under one umbrella to debate, deliberate and create solutions to ensure all-round safety.
